Breathe

The process of this painting was meditation in itself. I began by breathing and setting the intention to relax and allow something higher to take over. My hands and eyes were drawn toward colors and I dabbed pant on the canvas. Using a wide brush, I dragged and mixed the paint to create lines of green, blue, yellow, and orange. Then I used a sharp tool to carve through the paint. Illustrations of plants, a window, and the still life appeared. I used abstraction to fill in the negative space with white paint. Then I used other colors of paint to fill in spaces where more color was needed. I added small details and finally wrote specific affirmations around the sides of the canvas frame.

This piece would be perfect for a calm corner, a zen bathroom, or an incredibly sweet gift for a plant + book lover.
